CALVIN LOVE
Calvin Love is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Edmonton, Alberta, whose songs fold new wave, psych-pop and rock and roll into a shadowy, romantic sound. A restless writer and performer, Love's records move between night-drive synths, guitar-led hooks and atmospheric storytelling, with recent music including Throw My Shadow To The Sun. These intimate UK dates bring his road-tested songs into small rooms where the details can land upclose.
TOWNES-THOMAS
Underground poet Townes-Thomas presents GHOUL, a sprechgesang performance which blends late-night noir, speculative fiction, and subterranean drone. What began as a lockdown poetry project has evolved into a live music collaboration bringing a group of musicians together “in noir conference”. Their recent EP melds the storytelling traditions of chanson with influences ranging from no-wave, post-rock, and freak-folk, and features baritone guitar, accordion, and violin. Equal parts Badalamenti film score and post-rock atmosphere, their recent live performance at Sheffield’s Pattern Club was the latest step in the band’s evolution. Following the release of GHOUL, they are currently working on their next EP.
